Feed Composition and Nutrition
The dry matter of feed consists of organic (proteins, carbohydrates, fats) and minerals (phosphorus, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, iodine, etc.).
Squirrels. This is an important organic element that is part of all body cells. This substance cannot be replaced with other organic substances, therefore, its presence in the feed composition is mandatory.
Carbohydrates are the main source of energy for parrots. They enter the body of birds mainly with plant foods.
Fats are also an indispensable element, as they participate in the most important reactions of the body. Fats are a source of reserve energy. 1 gram of fat contains twice as many calories as carbohydrates or proteins. Most fats are consumed by poultry when they have flax or sunflower seeds in their diet, which consist of 30 – 40% vegetable fat. This is almost eight times more than in oats or corn. Fats are important for the absorption of certain vitamins: A, D, E, K.
The composition of the food for parrots should also include vitamins and minerals, without which the normal functioning of the body of parrots is impossible.
Feed is of plant, animal and mineral origin.

In such feeds, boiled chicken eggs are used (fairly complete nutrition), meat and meat products (administered only in special cases: heart, liver or kidneys are boiled); bloodworm (mosquito larva), flour worm.
Usually, special briquettes are prepared for this, consisting of certain types of minerals: clay, crushed eggshells, crushed tablets of calcium glycerophosphate, wood ash, coarse river sand, chalk, salt, bone meal.
